Today, Thursday, Sept. 7, is the BCDC meeting after cancellations of previous meetings. Oyster Cove Marina, as well as BCDC’s liveaboard policies will be on the agenda (as Item 11).
Please come and voice your opinion about allowing Harbormasters to increase the percentage of liveaboards to 25% in the Bay Area.
See link below for the Thursday September 7th meeting of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) included in this Email: https://bcdc.ca.gov/cm/2023/09-07-agenda.html.
There is a good possibility that our efforts & voices to increase the allowed liveaboard percentage (to as much as 25%) may be possible as we now have a few sympathetic members at BCDC.
This is an important meeting, all. Please take a moment to write a comment for the September 7th meeting and show that liveaboard’s have a voice! Send to PublicComment@bcdc.ca.gov or john.creech@bcdc.ca.gov and see also https://www.bcdc.ca.gov/virtual-commission-meetings-instructions.html.
There is also a zoom meeting at which you may voice your opinion which begins at 1 pm. Comments may be stated at the beginning of item 11 (Briefing on Oyster Point Compliance). Please do this as well.

Reasons this is so important now:
- Several marinas have closed in recent years.
- Many displaced liveaboard residents who were previously at Oyster Cove have been displaced.
- The City Council & Harbor District worked out a plan which allowed those displaced a 1-year reprieve at Oyster Point Marina.
- That 1-year period ends on the 15th of October 2023.
We Need More Than 10% liveaboards!
Please take action by advocating for an increase to 25% (at Harbormasters discretion, of course).
